Acoustic Standoff

The Acoustic Standoff shifts the focal zone of the transducer to the region of interest. Since the material is compliant the transducer may be pushed into the bulk of the material providing a reasonable range of adjustment to the focal zone.

The Acoustic Standoff is a soft compliant oleophilic gel that will drape and conform to the contour of the patient. The material will not dry out, is impervious to water and may be cleaned with soap and water. The Acoustic Standoff is supplied in a thin .04 mm plastic bag. Coupling gel should be used between the standoff and the patient.
