Compensating Chest Filter
Provides greater diagnostic detail.
In the usual chest X-ray, a "corner" of the lung field is generally underexposed because it is hidden behind the heart. Our "Clear-Pb" Chest X-ray Filter solves this problem. It allows the beam intensity to be increased to reveal details of the lung in the heart shadow. It also attenuates the X-ray beam to protect the rest of the field from overexposure. The lungs, heart and spine are all clearly imaged on the radiograph.
Easy to use, The Chest Filter is made of lightweight "Clear-Pb" leaded plastic, shaped to match the lung area and transparent to the light field. The filter is hinged to a plastic mounting plate that is easily adaptable to fit the collimator’s accessory tray. For lateral views or non-chest applications, the filter swings out of the X-ray beam.
