Radiation Attenuating Gloves
- Maximum sensitivity
- Non-latex - synthetic rubber
- Lead free - eliminates heavy metal toxicity disposal
- 9 mils thin
- Sterile
Cone Instruments in cooperation with a leading glove manufacturer brings you latex free/lead free radiation attenuating gloves. Only 9 mils thick, these attenuating gloves offer excellent flexibility, dexterity and touch sensitivity. The synthetic rubber formulation avoids proteinaceous sensitivities associated with natural latex. The lead-free composition eliminates EPA heavy-metal toxicity disposal concerns. Attenuating gloves are not intended for use in lieu of radiographic protective gloves. Attenuating gloves are a specialty glove intended for specific examination purposes. The intent of this glove is to reduce the amount of scattered radiation exposure to the hands from the primary x-ray beam during fluoroscopic examination; e.g., percutaneous renal calculus removal, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography and other angiography procedures. It is not intended for use in or adjacent to the primary x-ray beam or the transmitted x-ray beam. Attenuating gloves are supplied ready to use in sterile packages.
The following table illustrates the attenuation properties of this glove in primary x-ray beam with the listed peak kilovoltages.
60 kVp 32% HVL=2.3 mm Al
70 kVp 25% HVL=3.3 mm Al
100 kVp 18% HVL=4.3 mm Al
120 kVp 14% HVL=5.6 mm Al
